Financial Responsibility

The Form I-20 is a multi-purpose document issued by a U.S. government-approved educational institution certifying that a student has been admitted to a full-time study program and has demonstrated sufficient financial resources to stay in the United States. The Form I-20 allows an individual to apply for an F-1 student vias at a U.S. embassy or consulate abroad. You need a Form I-20 to ovtain an F-1 student visa or status, or to keep lawful F-1 status when transferring or changing schools within the U.S.

To receive an I-20, students must show proof of funds for one academic school year which is done by completing the Certificate of Finance Packet. Please be aware that there is a seperate packet for Canadian students.
